An ‘A-List’ Celebrity’s visit to the 2010 World Cup
A client of Rose Partners had plans to attend the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. This trip would include staying in Johannesburg, attending matches there as well as fellow host cities Port Elizabeth, Durban and Cape Town. Visits to Sun City were also included, along with a three-day safari in the Kruger National Park.
Rose’s executive protection officers deployed in advance to prepare accommodation, transportation, bookings and matchday accreditation. The executive protection team leader worked in conjunction with Rose Partners’ South African support staff, FIFA representatives, local media and South African authorities, choreographing each stage of the trip and contingency planning throughout. The team worked closely with the client’s PA and staff, ensuring all aspects of the developed risk mitigation plan were tailored to the client’s itinerary and programme. The established security support would be discreet and subtle when required, but also prominent and overt when it needed to be.
The client and her entourage arrived at Lanseria Airport and were met by the executive protection team. With all aspects of the trip being catered for, the team were in a prominent position to reduce identified risks and help enable the client’s movements and requirements. The client and her group were subsequently able to enjoy the World Cup and their visit to South Africa without issue. Rose Partners’ executive protection team successfully provided discreet security support in a variety of different circumstances and occasions for the entirety of the trip.
