Niamh was with the Metropolitan Police for 21 years working as a Crime Scene Manager (CSM) in the Homicide and Serious Crime Command. She is a registered fingerprint expert and field forensic specialist, with a focus on murder, mass fatality, critical incidents and Disaster Victim Identification (DVI).

Niamh was a member of both the Metropolitan Police and the UK Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) teams and has been deployed operationally both domestically and internationally in response to natural and accidental disasters and acts of terrorism. As a part of this team, she was also trained in CBRNE for chemically contaminated scenes involving small to mass-scale fatalities.
She has worked in the Middle East as a Forensic Tactical Advisor in both Saudi Arabia and the UAE and since March 2018 has been a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Interpol working as an operationally deployed trainer and advisor with their Disaster Victim Identification and Chemical Explosives Terrorism Prevention Units undertaking work in amongst other places Borneo, Kuala Lumpar Nepal, Cyprus, Jordan and the Ukraine.

She holds an MSc in Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management from the University of Leicester, she is a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority and is currently undertaking a PhD in Policing in the ‘Recovery of Bodies (singular and mass) from Contaminated Environments’ at Canterbury Christchurch University.
